Marc A. Burton

Marc Burton is a South Florida litigator who has argued against the sitting Governor of Florida in court and served as Lead County Counsel for Democratic presidential campaigns in Miami-Dade. His practice spans business and commercial litigation, employment disputes, political and election law, and defamation — backed by reported appellate decisions and top-tier peer ratings.

Marc holds a J.D. and an M.Ed. from Boston College (2011) and a B.S. cum laude from New York University (2008).

Marc is admitted in Florida, Massachusetts, and seven federal courts — including the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First and Eleventh Circuits.

Marc has earned a Super Lawyers designation every year since 2019. His AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell reflects the highest level of peer recognition in the profession. In 2023, he was named one of the 40 top lawyers under 40 by the Miami-Dade Bar. He is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and serves on two Florida Bar Standing Committees.

Since 2018, Marc has coached the E. Earle Zehmer Workers' Compensation Moot Court Team at the University of Miami Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board — and was invited to join the UM Law Moot Court Alumni Advisory Board despite never having attended the school.

Marc has served as Lead County Counsel for the Biden 2020 and Harris 2024 presidential campaigns in Miami-Dade, DNC Convention Rules Committee member under Governor Tim Walz, General Counsel of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party, and FDP State Executive Committee member. His political law practice draws on six election cycles of hands-on experience in Democratic politics at the local, state, and national level.

Marc serves on the Board of Directors of Temple Sinai of North Dade, one of South Florida’s most established Jewish congregations.
