In 2018, Marc A. Burton served as the statewide Voter Protection Director for the Florida Democratic Party. Prior to that, in 2016, Marc A. Burton served as the Florida Voter Protection Special Projects Director for the Florida Democratic Party and the Presidential Clinton.Campaign of Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton.

As of 2019, Marc A. Burton serves as General Counsel to the Miami-Dade Democratic Party.

Marc A. Burton has also represented organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida, the Florida Immigrant Coalition, and the Florida Democratic Party in various voting rights lawsuits.

Attorney Richard J. Burton was the elected Fire Commissioner of Miami-Dade County, Florida from 1988-1992.
